Lead Technician - Center
Customarily, nobody ever knows where life will lead them; however some way or another we as a whole tend to make our own arrangement of plans! I am Asia Craft, and my plans were nothing like I have at any point envisioned! My instructive foundation started with me at Xavier University as a Biology Pre-Med major. It was not until I watched one of my daughters struggle socially and behaviorally that I began to embark on a voyage of understanding Applied Behavior Analyst. My objective was to learn as much as I could to help her on the grounds that despite the fact that she displayed a few indications of ASD as a little child, her findings did not come until only as of late, at four years old.
Nevertheless; with a goal to help her in mind, I set out to be a Registered Behavior Technician. I wanted to gain as much knowledge as I could to help her. In doing so, I have learned that my curiosity has turned into an incurable enthusiasm. Becoming an RBT has taught me not only the ability to identify the four functions of behavior, but techniques to achieve functional communication, and so much more. Viewing the development in every kid rising in ABA treatment is nothing short of fulfilling and has since lead me to my immediate educational plans.
Ultimately, I intend to complete my Bachelors of Science with a concentration in Autism Studies and become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst bearing in mind the end goal to some time or another get my MS and turn into a BCBA. I’m sure life has it’s own set of plans for me, but I guess we’ll just have to wait to see.
